Irmáns Dios Mosquera Park
On the banks of the River Valga, this park features gardens, playgrounds, picnic areas, walkways, and a bathing area with a small beach. Among its sculptures, the most noteworthy is that of Agustina Carolina Otero Iglesias, known as “La Bella Otero”. A still carved in stone commemorates the popular festivities “Festa da Caña do País” and “Festa da Anguía”, celebrating traditional occupations.

Parafita & Raxoi Waterfalls
The River Valga rushes through a narrow valley, forming several waterfalls known in Galicia as “fevenzas”. A recreation area with walkways and restored watermills is built next to one of the most spectacular waterfalls.

Pedra da Serpe Petroglyph
A route starting from As Laceiras leads to the “Pedra da Serpe”, an outstanding example of Bronze Age rock art in Galicia.

Vilarello Beach
Riverside beach located between marshlands and riparian woodlands of high ecological value. Facilities include a small jetty, recreational area with showers, playground, and an outdoor auditorium.

Mina Mercedes Lake
Originally a clay quarry gradually filled with water to form a natural lagoon, approximately 30,000 m² in area and 20 meters deep. A walkway with green areas and a viewpoint surrounds the lake.

Religious Heritage
San Miguel de Valga Church
This Neoclassical church is located in the village of San Miguel de Valga, on the Way of Saint James. Notable features include its Via Crucis, stone cross, and the vicarage with its impressive stone granary and dovecote.

San Mamede Chapel
Located in the village of Os Martores, this chapel was built in the 4th–5th centuries AD. It houses a first-century Roman altar dedicated to Mercury and tombs dating from Swabian and medieval times.

Virxe da Saúde Chapel
Built on the site of an ancient hill fort, this chapel commemorates the victory over Napoleon’s troops at the Battle of Casal de Eirigo in 1809.

San Salvador de Setecoros Church
The Parish Church of San Salvador, dating from the 16th century, is in the hamlet of A Eirexe. It preserves several pre-Romanesque capitals from the original church and leads to Monte Fontebecha, a scenic hillside viewpoint.

A Devesa Chapel
A small chapel near the parish core of Santa Cristina de Campaña. A nearby stone cross marks where people excluded from their homes due to illness or family disputes would sit.

Santa Cristina de Campaña Church
A 12th-century Romanesque church with valuable 16th-century wall paintings. It contains the relics of its patron saint and a free-standing bell tower.

This parish church, birthplace of scholar Xesús Ignacio Ferro Couselo, contains a Baroque altarpiece and sculptures of great artistic value. It formerly belonged to a monastery.

O Souto Bridge
A magnificent medieval stone bridge over the River Valga, forming part of the ancient Roman road Via XIX. It features a small buddle and is an important historical landmark.

Santa Comba de Louro Old Church
Next to a stream flowing towards Balleas, this site contains the archaeological remains of a necropolis with tombs dating back to Roman times. Nearby are a stone cross, medieval remains of the original Church and Monastery of Santa Comba de Louro, and a late Roman glass furnace.

Traditional Festivals
The “Festa da Caña do País” and the “Festa da Anguía” are popular local celebrations honoring traditional occupations: distilling brandy from grape pressings and eel fishing, held on the last weekend of August.
Viewpoints & Recreation
Monte Beiro Viewpoint
Located near the road from Pontecesures to Vilagarcía, Monte Beiro is a “balcony over Valga.” Visitors can enjoy panoramic views, a restored 19th-century windmill, a Woodland Botany Trail, and a recreational area.
